The Marvel/Telltale Games video game will arrive sometime in 2017. We'll keep you up to date as we hear more. But if one looks back over Telltale Games' recent history creating content directly spun from popular shows like Game of Thronesand The Walking Dead, the pattern suggests that Marvel and the gaming studio have a more direct connection in mind. It is entirely possible that this partnership will result in a game that has nothing to do with the MCU canon, and will instead be a regular installment in their catalog.

That doesn't mean that a game would need to tie-in completely, but perhaps something that lets fans uncover official canonized information-maybe an open-world where speaking to people reveals details about a specific character or small plot points of upcoming films. Obviously Marvel is no stranger to producing a few quality games that people like ( Spider-Man Unlimited, Contest of Champions and Avengers Alliance come to mind), but they have yet to create a game that takes advantage of interactivity in order to add something to the MCU (though we still have to see what LEGO Marvel's Avengers has to offer). It is more than possible that Marvel could follow in the footsteps of the Star Wars franchise and release a game that includes downloadable content of exclusive footage ( as they are doing with Battlefront). They could also take cue from the Mad Max franchise and introduce a game that expands the mythos, but acts as a standalone title in the canon. It would make sense that the game would contribute something to the current shared universe, and if it does, the question is what. Though there isn't any official information as to which character(s) the game will feature, there is some early speculation as to what it may have to offer the MCU as a whole (if the game will have anything to do with it, that is). We have one special game we're excited about." It takes a long time to find the right partner. A debut trailer has been released as well as an official description. It is a first-person action video game coming out in 2017.

And now that Marvel is going even further with the recent announcement of a new Spider-Man animated movie in 2018, it's about time they take the next step. Marvel has done a fantastic job recently growing their shared universe and introducing new iterations of characters who weren't always at the forefront of people's minds, while consistently announcing confirmed characters for future films and expanding with new TV shows.
